Four Collegiate Golfers from Oregon and Oregon State Head to Augusta National
Four talented golfers from Oregon and Oregon State universities are set to compete in the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur. This year's tournament, taking place from April 1-4 in Augusta, Georgia, features a strong lineup of the top amateur golfers in the world.
Among the participants are three Oregon Ducks and one Oregon State Beaver. They are Kiara Romero, Karen Tsuru, and Prim Prachnakorn from Oregon, and Kyra Ly from Oregon State. The tournament's field includes the Top 20 players in the current World Amateur Golf rankings and 48 of the Top 50.
Kiara Romero, a junior, stands out as the No. 1 women's amateur in the world and the first two-time, first-team All-American in Oregon women's golf history. She previously competed in the Augusta National Women's Amateur last year, tying for seventh place. Prim Prachnakorn is ranked No. 30, and Karen Tsuru is ranked No. 40 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
The tournament's first and second rounds will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET on April 1 and 2. After a practice round on April 3, NBC Sports will air the final round from 12-3 p.m. ET on April 4.
