Stablecoin funding settles almost instantly, operates around the clock, and significantly reduces costs compared to traditional wire transfers. This means global clients can now fund their accounts outside of their local business hours and start trading immediately, a feat that traditional wire transfers simply can't match.
"Stablecoin funding provides international investors with the speed and flexibility required in today's markets. Clients can transfer funds and begin trading within minutes, while also reducing transaction costs," says Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers.
And this is the part most people miss: the beauty of stablecoin funding lies in its simplicity. Clients can fund their accounts with USDC, a digital asset backed 1:1 by the US dollar, directly from their crypto wallet to a secure wallet provided by zerohash. Interactive Brokers plans to expand its stablecoin support to include Ripple Coin (RLUSD) and PayPal's coin (PYUSD) next week. Once received, the stablecoin is automatically converted into US dollars and credited to the client's brokerage account.
The best part? Interactive Brokers doesn't charge any fees for stablecoin deposits. Clients only need to cover any fees associated with the blockchain network, and zerohash applies a minimal conversion fee of 0.30% per deposit, with a minimum fee of $1.
